Superconductors: Getting a Rise Out of Magnets

Cathy Page will discuss how superconductors work on an atomic level and explain how their unique properties are used in applications from medical imaging to bullet trains. Page is an associate professor of inorganic chemistry, solid-state chemistry and materials science at the University of Oregon. Come for a cool drink and a much cooler demonstration of magnetic levitation!
