Greetings good sirs and madams. Yule-tidings and Well-Winter-Wishes this festive season. Most of us in the Valley have experienced record coldness, icy roads, busted pipes and joy already this December and Christmas hasn’t even arrived yet. We’ve got what you need to recover from your cabin fever and shopping-stress blues at the Calapooia Brewpub this weekend.

Wild Hog in The Woods will ease us into a significant thawing of roads and spirits on Thursday the 12th starting at 7pm. If you haven’t heard these guys yet, the wintertime is the perfect time, as they remind us of cold nights around the hearth during days of Christmas past, before television and even radio. Come warm your cockles with a fine brew, a hot meal and quality entertainment.

Friday night brings us Salem band, Blue Evolution. BE is a bluesy homage to such bands as the Allmann Brothers and The Grateful Dead. Their easy-going rock is solid and they can shred when they choose. They play at 8 o’clock on Friday night and there is no cover.

On Saturday night, come hear the roots-rock sound of Cascade Rye. Jake Payne, his partner Kalyn Rich, and their talented ensemble perform stripped down rock and roll with a nice healthy dusting of southern spice.

This is a triplet of musical warmth not to be missed on this chilly weekend.

Cheers, y’all!
