CALAPOOIA BREWING CO. OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Position overview:

The outside sales representative for our small brewery will be responsible for generating sales and expanding the presence of our craft beer in regional markets. (Eugene, Salem) This role involves building strong relationships with bars, restaurants, and retail stores while maintaining a deep understanding of our unique product offerings. The ideal candidate is self motivated, passionate about craft beer, and thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. 

Key responsibilities:

Sales & Territory management

-Develop and execute a sales strategy to grow the brewery's presence in designated territories.

-Identify and pursue new business opportunities with potential accounts, including bars, restaurants, liquor stores, and other retail outlets.

-Manage existing accounts by providing exceptional service, ensuring satisfaction, and driving repeat business. 

Relationship Building

-Build and nurture relationships with key decision makers and buyers within the target market.

-Conduct regular visits to accounts to present new products, gather feedback, and maintain a strong brand presence.

-Serve as the face of the brewery in the local community, promoting the brand at events, tastings, and festivals. 

Product Promotion & Education

-Educate clients and their staff on the brewery's product line, including beer styles, flavor profiles, and brewing techniques. 

-Organize and lead tastings, tap takeovers, and promotional events to increase brand visibility and consumer awareness. 

Sales Reporting & Goal Tracking

-Monitor and report on sales performance, market trends and customer feedback. 

-Maintain accurate records of sales activities, including visits, orders, and follow ups, using CRM tools or other tracking systems. 

-Achieve or exceed sales targets set by the management team.

Collaboration & Communication

-Work closely with the brewing team to stay informed about new products, production schedules, and inventory availability.

-Coordinate with the marketing team to align sales efforts with promotional campaigns and branding initiatives. 

Qualifications:

-Previous experience in sales, preferably in the craft beer or beverage industry.

-Strong understanding of craft beer, including different styles, brewing processes and market trends.

-Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills.

-Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and cover a designated sales territory.

-Valid drivers license and a willingness to travel regularly within the assigned regions. 

-Passion for craft beer and a strong desire to help a small brewery grow. 

Preferred Skills:

-Established network within the local beverage and hospitality industry.

-Experience using CRM software for sales tracking and account management. 

-Ability to organize and execute successful promotional events. 

Work Environment:

-Primarily field based with frequent travel to client sites, events, and industry functions.

-Flexible schedule, with some evening and weekend work required to accommodate client needs and events.

Compensation:

-Competitive hourly wages plus commission

-Mileage reimbursed
